Viva La Poem "went off like a bottle rocket!"

The Viva la Poem Community Reading went off like a bottle rocket. We had a bunch of lively and interesting readers. The student in the photo, a poet by the name of Brett, shared some of his slam-style poems, including one that he had finished just the night before.

Other students and community members read more traditional poems and a student by the name of Laurel read a poem titled "The ABCs of the SATs" that used the 26 letters of the alphabet to alliterate her 26 lines.

All in all, Viva la Poem was a huge success. I couldn't be more stoked. To all the readers up on the stage and all the listeners down in the audience, I'd like to say thank you. Your spirit makes a poem-culture on campus a possibility. Keep it up.
