I hope everyone had a fantastic time at the USUAA Homecoming Dance this past weekend! It was unfortunate that I couldn't be there, but I was happy to be representing UAA Seawolves at the University of Victoria IV in British Columbia this past weekend as Homecoming took-off. And the trophies we brought home totally made it worth it! Check out the UAA Debate website.
At competition, UAA had 4 of the top 8 teams, who then advanced to become 3 of the top 4 teams in the tournament's final round of competition. Although ultimately the championship went to a team from the University of Alberta, we were proud to boast 4 of the top 5 speakers of the tournament. Colin Haughey took 1st Place Speaker, Sarah Carpenter (my debate partner) took 2nd Place Speaker, Drew Cason took 3rd Place Speaker, I (Amie Stanley) took 5th Place Speaker, and Matt Fox was the tournament's Top Novice Speaker.
Back home and ready for some Homecoming excitement, I'm just hoping that the Hockey team gets as lucky this weekend at the Kendall Classic. Come out and cheer them on!
And don't forget to come visit USUAA Friday morning for some Good Morning Seawolves free breakfast.
